We spent the last few days celebrating my grandfather by doing some of his favourite things. Being together at my grandparents house, laughing, reminiscing, exploring and creating, is exactly what he would have wanted.
Finding the words to remember someone who was so important to you is hard. My fondest memories, and ones I will never forget, were all the times at my grandparents house; crafting, woodworking, sewing, catching butterflies, exploring, hiking, fishing and so much more. My grandfather was a man of many, many hobbies and let me tell you, he was an expert at all of them. Anything we wanted to create, he would let us run with it, help to figure it all out and teach us how to make it come to life.
My love of flowers, gardening, coins, birds, butterflies and everything in between started from him. I will cherish all of these memories and all of the little moments. And I hope to carry on so many of his favourite hobbies, his kindness, and his teachings.
Knowing that he passed so many of the same qualities and creative genes down to my Dad, we can help keep his memory alive and continue telling stories of how much he meant to our family, especially to my Grandmother.
Rest peacefully Grampa, I love you. ❤️
